AcroSoft Announces v5.0 Release
AcroSoft Announces 5.0 Release of Document Management Solution
Columbia, SC -- February 2009
AcroSoft Corporation has announced the latest release of their document management solution, AS Documents. The release, which was first introduced at the 2008 AcroSoft Client Information Conference in October, includes enhancements for both business and administration users as well as a variety of fixes.
Business-oriented enhancements include added features to the existing annotations functionality. Users will now have the ability to copy and paste annotations, such as text additions and highlights, throughout a document. Annotation security has also been enhanced to include options to limit the deletion of annotations to only the author of the annotation.
In addition, an annotation history feature has been developed to help better track the creation, modification, and deletion of annotations. Each activity states the detail of the annotation, a date stamp for the action, as well as the user ID associated with the action. Annotations can also be filtered by user, so that the user logged on can view only the annotations they have added to the selected image.
From an administration standpoint, AcroSoft has added support for ActiveDirectory integration to allow a single sign-on option to the document management solution, as well as the AcroSoft Administration Tool. Users will now be logged in automatically to AS Documents and the Administration tool using their Windows network user login credentials. Another highly anticipated enhancement related to infrastructure audit compliance, allows for the AcroSoft servers to run as Windows Services.
AcroSoft Vice President – Business Services, Cindy Waund, is confident that users will be pleased with this release, given that each was requested by one or more clients. “AcroSoft has always relied on client input and industry insight as our guide to continued application improvements. This release delivers client requested enhancements that will benefit not only business users, but technical support staff as well.”
AcroSoft will continue to introduce new products and versions throughout 2009. Updates for their AS WorkManagement and AS ScanPlus are currently in development. Continued development on their web-based solution, AS AnyWhere is also planned for the year, with a planned release in the first quarter.
